Material analysis and processing
Current projects being carried out by the Institute of biomass research include the analysis and processing of materials such as wood-plastic composites (WPC). The following equipment is used for this purpose:
Plastic processing
- Single-screw extruder with blown film tower
and plate extruder - Granulator
- Injection mould
Thermal analysis equipment
- Thermogravimetric analyser with FTIR spectrometer
for gas analysis - Fire testing equipment based on DIN 4102-1
- Differential scanning calorimeter
Optical analysis equipment
- ATR infrared spectrometer
- Reflected light microscope
- Scanning electron microscope (SEM) with EDX
We also have additional methods of analysis at our disposal, including gas and liquid chromatography, electrophoresis and surface modification and analysis (click here to find out more).
